6E Club App Icon Not Opening After Install: Launch Fixes

Published · 6E Club blog

If the 6E Club icon on your home screen opens to a blank page, spins without end or shows a browser address bar, the cause is almost always one of three things: the app could not reach the internet when it started, the browser that installed the icon is blocked or out of date, or the icon was added as a plain shortcut rather than as an app. Each has a fix you can do yourself in a minute or two, and none of them needs a new download.

This post covers the installed icon only, from the moment you tap it until the practice lobby appears. The order matters: start with the gentlest step and stop as soon as the icon opens, because one of the later steps can remove an account on an iPhone.

Blank Screen, Spinner or Browser Bar: What Each Means

The icon is a web app: a small shortcut that asks your browser to open the practice lobby in its own window. There is no separate program on the phone, and no copy of the game is stored for offline use. So what you see on a failed launch tells you which part of that chain broke.

What a failed launch of the installed icon usually means
What you seeMost likely causeFirst thing to try
A plain white or dark screen that never fillsThe lobby could not load: no data, a weak signal or a data-saver blockTurn mobile data or Wi-Fi off and on, then close the icon fully and tap it again
A spinner or loading bar that never finishesA very slow connection, or battery saving that limits the browserSwitch off battery saver for a moment, or move to a stronger signal
The browser’s own “no internet” pageThe phone was offline when you tapped the iconReconnect, then reopen; the app needs a connection to start
An address bar and browser buttons at the topThe icon was saved as a bookmark-style shortcut, not installed as an appNothing is broken; see the browser-tab section below
The lobby opens, then asks you to register againThe icon is using different storage from the place you registeredSee the browser checks in the next section

Before anything else, do the full close: swipe the icon away in the recent-apps view (not just the back button), wait a few seconds, check you are online, and tap it again. A fresh start loads the newest version of the lobby, and this alone fixes most blank screens.

On Android, pressing and holding the icon may show two shortcuts, Practice lobby and Sign in. If the lobby stays blank but the Sign in shortcut opens, the connection is fine and the problem is with the lobby page loading; a cache clear (below) is the next step.

Checking the Browser That Installed the Icon

Every installed icon belongs to one browser. On Android that is usually Chrome, but it can be Edge or Samsung Internet. On an iPhone it is Safari. The icon opens through that browser, so anything that stops the browser stops the icon too.

  1. Find out which browser it was. If you are not sure, think back to where you tapped Install or Add to Home Screen. On Android, long-pressing the icon and opening App info often names the browser.
  2. Update that browser. Open the Play Store or App Store, search for the browser and tap Update if it is offered. An old version is a common cause of blank launches.
  3. Make sure it is switched on. On Android, a browser that has been disabled in Settings → Apps, or restricted to no background data, can leave the icon with nothing to open it.
  4. Check where your account lives. Each browser keeps its own storage. An icon installed from Samsung Internet will not see an account you made in Chrome. On an iPhone, the icon keeps storage of its own, apart from Safari.

Also check the phone’s date and time are set to automatic. A clock that is far off can confuse the round timer and make the lobby look stuck even when it has loaded.

Clearing Cache for the Installed App Only

If a full close did not help, a cache clear removes the saved copies of the app’s files so they load fresh. The important word is cache. Clearing site data or storage instead deletes the account, coins and Club level, because they live in the browser’s storage on your phone.

  • Android (Chrome or Edge): the icon has no cache of its own; it uses the browser’s. Clear only Cached images and files in the browser’s delete-data screen, or use Settings → Apps → Chrome → Storage → Clear cache. Never tap Clear storage or Manage space.
  • Samsung Internet: the same idea. Delete only cached images and files, nothing else.
  • iPhone: there is no cache button for a home-screen web app, and Safari’s Clear History and Website Data does not target the icon (it can delete an account you made in Safari, though). The fresh start from the first section is the iPhone version of a cache clear.

The customer care page’s table of safe clear buttons lists every button by name, with a tick or a cross for whether it keeps your account.

Removing and Re-Adding the Icon

Reinstalling is the last resort, and it behaves very differently on the two kinds of phone. Read the line for yours before you remove anything.

What removing the icon does to your account
PhoneWhat happens to the accountHow to re-add
AndroidIt stays in the browser, as long as you do not also clear the site’s dataOpen a normal tab in the same browser, go to the site, use Install app or Add to Home screen
iPhone or iPadIt goes with the icon, because the icon held its own storageOpen Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen with Open as Web App on, and register again inside the icon

On Android, if the removal screen offers to delete the site’s data as well, leave that option off. When you re-add the icon, use the same browser you made the account in, and use a normal tab: private tabs do not offer the install option. On an iPhone, write down your username first and accept that the new icon starts fresh, with a full balance of practice coins and Club level reset.

Step-by-step install screens for each browser are on the page about adding the 6E Club app to Android, iPhone or a laptop.

When to Use the Browser Tab Instead

The icon is a convenience, not a requirement. Every room, the coin balance and the rules work the same in an ordinary browser tab, and some phones are simply better off without the icon:

  • a phone so full that the browser keeps clearing its own files;
  • a work or school phone where installing web apps is blocked;
  • a shared family phone, where a tab you close is easier to keep private than an icon;
  • an icon that still shows a blank screen after every step above.

On Android the tab and the icon share one account, so switching is seamless. On an iPhone they do not: a Safari tab has its own account, separate from the one inside the icon. Pick one place and stay with it. If an icon opens with an address bar, it is really a saved browser tab, which is fine to keep using.

Fix It Yourself, Never With a Stranger

Every fix on this page happens on your own phone, in a few taps. No one needs remote access, a code from your messages or a fee to make the icon open. If someone calling themselves 6E Club support offers to fix it for you, stop and close the chat.
